Get Moving & Active to Lose Weight Naturally

I know…People say you need to “exercise”…

That often doesn’t sound like much fun, does it? There’s a schema that goes along with it that’s sometimes hard to get past.

If you’re like me, I’m not crazy about “exercising” in front of a whole bunch of people at the gym. I do it, but usually prefer to get outside of the gym and get my activity done!

To me anyway, it’s always more pressure of what you’re going to wear, are people looking at me…I just want to work out and get it done, instead of thinking of all the other variables that so often discourage people from going to work out!

So, when people tell you to get moving and active, and you don’t want to just go to the gym, you probably think…

northfacerunningshoes1“What could I go do then?”  Walking, jogging, running (maybe)…??? What else? You may come to a loss…

I like to get out of the “norm” and do activities that are a little more exciting and adventurous. It breaks up the monotony of things and makes you forget you’re even exercising. Here’s some great ideas:

How about mountain biking, hiking or climbing? How about canoeing, kayaking, snorkeling (doesn’t just have to be in the ocean, you know) or cross country skiing?

A word of advice though…Make sure you’re prepared with Outdoor Gear to be sure you’re most comfortable and protected from the elements.

You don’t want exercise to feel like a chore, or make it any more difficult than it needs to be!

Being cold, wet or too hot, can deter you from getting out there, or when you’re outside already, from completing your recreational task!

They have clothing that makes sense for the outdoors. They have thermal wear for the cold and quality warm weather clothing for men, women and children. Plus, they have great tents, sleeping bags and backpacks to make your life easier!

Make it a weekend of camping and getting outside into the fresh air to exercise! Hauling gear, swimming, even fighting a small current fly fishing could be good core strength training.

What’s great about The North Face is that they have shoes specific to your outdoor activities too, plus great warm coats. I especially like their women’s pants…They’re stylish, comfortable and they have a great selection too.

Plus, if your whole family is geared towards losing weight naturally, this is a much more fun family event than getting together in the living room for pilates or calisthenics.

Be creative! Exercise is fun and can be adventurous too!

This should get those creative juices running and make “exercise” a good word!
