1. Weight loss and fat loss are two totally different things: They have 2 totally different goals. Weight consists of bones, muscle, water, fat, waste, etc…But fat is just fat. You can’t measure your fat loss success based upon whether or not you lose weight. You have to measure it with a skin fold test or some other device that measures whether or not you are increasing or decreasing the amount of fat you have.
2. In order to lose fat, you have to create a consistent daily calorie deficit, BUT you need the proper nutrition in order to maintain or increase lean body mass.
3. The higher your metabolism, the more calories you will burn at rest: This means the higher your metabolism, the more fat you have a potential to burn throughout the day.
4. Eating smaller meals, but more frequently aides in having a high metabolism: This gives the body the steady and balanced nutrition and energy that it needs throughout the day, and doesn’t force the body into “starvation” mode which will cause it to store fat.
5. Lean body mass is THE key to fat loss: The more lean body mass you have, the higher your metabolism will be. The more fat you’ll burn daily, the more fat you’ll have the ability to burn in short amounts of time during physical activity.
6. Nutrition is Critical: You can burn all the calories you want, but if your nutrition sucks, then you’ll never lose fat. This doesn’t mean that you have to go on a “diet” per se, or eating things that don’t taste good. That’s all a bunch of bunk! You can eat a lot, what you like, and stuff that tastes good, but it’s the type of food that you eat that matters. Organic, free range is best, and eating foods with protein is of extreme importance.
7. Progress reports are of great importance: You should keep track of how you’re doing on a weekly basis every week, so that you know whether or not what you did that week worked or not. If it did, then continue with what you are doing. If it didn’t, then you know you have to make changes. However, this, at best, will be a guess if you don’t measure your fat loss or fat gain every week. Sundays are a great day to do this. In order to lose body fat, you must do this.
In Conclusion: You can be successful in your fat loss goals. It takes a plan, consistency and more than anything, the desire to do it. Once you have that, no one can stop you.
