It’s Day 23, Phase 2 of The Maker’s Diet.
It’s also SuperBowl XLIII and guess what? We’re cheating today!
We ate a quick breakfast of scrambled eggs and orange juice.
Then, for lunch, Kenney made his SuperBowl Steak Tacos, and they were amazing! Check out a video of them here and the post on my CookingWithKimberly.com website.
Then, for dinner, as we thought we would still be satisfied from dinner, Kenney made SuperBowl Nacho Dip, instead of nachos in case we couldn’t eat it all.
This fare, as you can see, isn’t from The Maker’s Diet, but we, like everyone else, are human!
Also, as you can see, this is Day 23 of our 40 Day Health Experience, and we’ve been doing pretty stellar when it comes to sticking with it.
Everyone is going to cheat every now and again, either because they just can’t take it (although on this diet, it doesn’t even feel or taste like you’re on one), for convenience sake and can’t get to a healthy meal or got up too late to pack a lunch from home, it’s a special occasion and you want to celebrate with everyone else, or for whatever other reason there could be…Let’s just be honest…it will happen.
The key here is to be sure that the majority of the time, you are “following the rules” and making more healthy choices than unhealthy choices.
At least we stuck to approved meat – beef, legumes – beans (although they’re not allowed in this phase), cheese with calcium (although regular cow’s cheese is not allowed this phase), organic stone-ground tortilla shells and chips (although grains aren’t allowed this phase), lettuce, tomatoes, peppers and chilies.
We cooked in olive oil and butter, as these are approved this phase.
For a “regular” meal, it’s not too, too bad, but bear in mind, we don’t eat like this everyday.

P.S. We always cook with a lot of olive oil, and on The Maker’s Diet, you’ll find that you are too! Be sure you’re using organic olive oil, as it’s just as important as the other ingredients you’re using. It’s often a little more difficult to find it, so I thought I’d give you a source for it here:

The most highly revered diet loss herb is green tea. Other types of herbs usually come with serious side effects, so it is usually best to stick with green tea. You add in healthy meals of veggies and low-fat proteins, and you have a week-long, healthy detox that is a terrific way to jumpstart a diet loss plan. I do this detox several times a year, just to help keep my system balanced. If you took good notes, then you’ll be able to use the review process as a learning experience to fine tune your rapid diet loss.
