How To Lose Weight Fast – Lesson #1

by Kenney on November 14, 2009

If you want to know how to lose weight fast, get comfy and read everyone of these lessons… don’t worry they’re FREE. lol

There is so much misleading information out there on losing weight. It’s because either they don’t know crap about what they are talking about and are just trying to rehashing something they’ve heard, or they have an alterior motive… MONEY!

How To Lose Weight Fast

The ONLY way that you are going to lose weight is by creating a calorie deficit. That’s it! The rest of everything that I will tell you is to help you discover how to do that. If you do not create a calorie deficit then you will not lose weight and if you do then you will.

If what ever program you are on or are thinking about trying doesn’t help you do this, then it is a waste of your money with one exception… a colon cleanse. So what is weight: muscle, fat, water, bones, and fecal matter.

That’s pretty much it. So, yes you want to do a colon cleanse because you want your body to be functioning at full health and it can’t if there is blockage or really old “waste” sitting in your colon. Plus once your colon is cleansed it can absorb nutrients better and it will help with some of those food cravings that you are having when you shouldn’t be.

Back to the calorie deficit. A calorie deficit is simply having more calories out than you take in. In other words you want to burn more total daily calories than you eat.

If you eat 2,137 calories today, but burn 2,675 calories, then you will lose some weight today. Now notice I said weight not fat.

Weight loss and fat loss are related, but slightly different in their approach. See, how you eat and the activities that you do will determine whether or not you have “weight loss” or fat loss.

How To Lose Weight Fast Mindset

“My New Year’s resolution is to lose weight”… how many people do you think say this every year? Why are they not successful?

Is it because of a lack of the right info?
Is it because of a lack of action?
Is it because of a lack of consistency?
Is it because they don’t believe it’s possible?
Is it because they are procrastinators?
Is it because they waste time doing activities that don’t move them toward weight loss?

It could be part of anyone of these, but all are apart of a larger picture… Your weight loss mindset.

You have to learn how to make losing weight part of your habitual life. How do you do this? It all starts in conscious mind. You have to start by discovering the real reason that you want to lose weight. You then need to make goals. Next you have to announce to your mind that losing weight is important to you and that you will stop at nothing to complete this task.

How?

By Creating a vision or a mission statement. This statement is a hand written statement that says exactly what you want to do. I want to lose ______ pounds by _______ 20__.

Then just below that you need to write out your reason why you want to do this. I want to lose _____ pounds by ______ 20__ because:____________________.

That word “because” is so powerful. It’s the motivation for the whole thing. Then you need to write your mission statement one more time just below your reason why statement.

It is important that you read this everyday three times per day. Please do not skip this step. This is the most important part of losing weight. Do you remember when I asked you earlier why aren’t people successful with there New Year’s resolutions? This is it.

They just say hey… I think I want to lose some weight… They start out and make it like 2 or 3 days then drop out. If they are real good they make some changes and stick with it for like a couple of weeks, then nothing. Now part of that has to do with being too extreme with the changes that they are making because they don’t have a true understanding of how losing weight really works and it’s partly not their fault, they’ve been mislead.

How To Set Weight Loss Goals

You can safely lose about 1-3 pounds of fat per week. The more overweight you are the more you can lose naturally and safely, the less overweight you are… the less. Take a look at the biggest loser for example. The reason why they go by percentage lost to determine a winner is because the lighter that you are the less total poundage you will lose.

Keep this in mind. It’s not about failure it’s about results. Look at it that way. If you get to the end of the week and have lost a pound or a 1/2% of body fat, hey that is success. Repeat what you did that week only do a little more and you will be on the right track to lose even more the next week. It’s all about tracking and results.

First you will want to set your long term goal. What do you want exactly, why, and by what date? Then you will want to work back from their setting intermediate goals, short term, and daily goals.

When I say daily goals I mean it. If you look at your goal sheet and the next goal seems hard to do, then you need to set another smaller goal. You eat an elephant one bite at a time.

For instance: if your goal this week is to lose one pound, then your goal today may be to cut back 300 calories in your diet and to go do a workout that you will burn at least 300 calories. You may have heard by now that a pound of fat is about 3,500 calories… and if you created a 500 calorie a day deficit you would lose 1 pound every 7 days. But the reason I told you to go for 300 calories (a 100 calorie buffer) is because you should be doing exercises that build lean muscle (I will explain later why in lesson 3).

You should not only measure and track your weight, but you should track your body fat percentage.
